MUNSON HEALTHCARE SMITH FAMILY BREAST HEALTH CENTER PROJECT Design centered around improved care and experience for patients and family TRAVERSE CITY, MICH., MARCH 13, 2008 – Interphase, the exclusive Haworth dealer in west and northern Michigan, recently completed the installation of furnishings for the new Smith Family Breast Health Center, a division of Munson Medical Center located in the Copper Ridge Development in Traverse City. The new branch of Munson opened in February 2008. The Smith Family Breast Health Center was established to support the medical, physical and emotional needs of patients and family members dealing with breast health issues. With sensitive health issues at bay, the Center enlisted Interphase to help obtain their goal of a healthcare facility that maintains the highest levels of privacy, dignity and comfort for its patients. Munson’s Facility Design Team designed the interior of the Smith Family Breast Health Center to be a very comfortable, warm, and inviting atmosphere that incorporates all aspects of patient privacy that the Center required. The facility includes private interview areas, a separate gowned waiting area that is not part of the main waiting room, private exam rooms, and a boutique to discuss prosthetics and wigs. All of the administrative areas of the facility use Haworth furnishings to compliment the warm nature of the design, while still maintaining a professional space. “Healthcare facilities provide a creative opportunity for our designers to fit several different key criteria into one overall, encompassing design theme,” said Keely Eagle, Interphase branch manager. “Our clients had some very specific ideas on how to improve patient care and we were able to help them incorporate those ideas into multiple areas of the facility.” The Smith Family Breast Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Northwest Michigan Surgery Center in the Copper Ridge Development off of W Silver Lake Rd.
