Gerber Life: Interphase Answers the Call

When the largest employer in Newaygo County, Gerber Products Co., is expanding, the entire state takes notice... including Governor Granholm.

As part of a 15-year tax break, the company developed a new customer call center for Gerber Life Insurance at their Fremont campus; a development that will retain 200 jobs and create 40 more in Michigan.

For the call center, Gerber wanted to create a modern workspace that maximized the natural light and kept the environment in mind. They chose Interphase to provide the solution:

* Designed an interior workspace that is contemporary, functional and reinforces the high quality of the Gerber brand.

* Furnished the 35,000 square-foot facility with durable, spacious work stations that maintain the levels of natural light throughout the space.

* Utilized "green" products, like the Zody chair and Haworth TecCrete flooring, to contribute to LEED certification.

* Created a quiet escape for call center employees to take breaks.

* Maintained a strict timeline to meet move-in dates of call center employees.
